Faith Development Ministries

Catechists

Catechists lead our programmes of preparation for the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, First Holy Communion, Reconciliation, and Marriage. They are tasked with helping to build up the faith of our church in this most valuable ministry. Training is provided for all catechists.

If you are interested in joining this group, please contact the Parish Priest.

Legion of Mary

This is a spiritual organisation under patronage of Mary. The Legion of Mary helps to serve the spiritual needs of the parish by volunteering two hours of time per week to house bound members of the parish, make hospital calls regularly, home visitation, assist in taking residents of a local Nursing Home to their weekly Mass, visit newcomers and lead the Rosary at daily Mass.

For further information please contact Sheila Appleton via Parish Office

RCIA: Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (Journey in Faith)

If you are ready to grow within the Catholic Faith, embrace RCIA. It is a formal education process for adults who are specifically seeking initiation into the Catholic Church.

If an individual adult has not been baptized, or you have been baptized but never attended any formal Catholic Education or formal religious training, or if you were Baptised but not a Catholic Baptism RCIA is for you.

Full initiation into the church occurs in stages. RCIA is a journey into faith.

RCIA holds meetings through out the year. This process culminates when the candidate becomes fully initiated at Easter Vigil (or Holy Saturday). For further information on becoming a full member of the St Edward’s Faith Community within the Roman Catholic Church, please click here.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament

Every Saturday Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament takes place. All are welcome to spend some time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. The sacrament of Reconciliation is available at this time.

Morning Prayer and the Rosary

After the morning Mass or Service of the Word during the week, Morning prayer and on occasion the rosary is also recited. All are most welcome to join in.
